Next configure the "Start Options" in the project property pages:
- select the "Start external program" option and enter "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe"
- enter /k node filename.js (where filename.js is your application entry point)
- set the working directory to be the project directory
Now when you run the project (use the Ctrl F5 option to ignore the web.config warning dialogue box) and node.js will start and load your project.
